The Campaign for Homosexual Equality is a voluntary organisation working to change the attitudes and laws that make life difficult for homosexual, bisexual and transgender people in England and Wales.

CHE was formed in 1969. As the Committee for Homosexual Equality, CHE became a national organisation and attracted support from many leading figures in the medical profession and the arts, together with some from the Church. In 1971 CHE changed its name to the Campaign for Homosexual Equality, and over the next few years it grew to have a membership of over 6,000 with more than 100 local groups in all parts of England and Wales.

Today CHE is only a fraction of its former size but still carries on the work begun nearly forty years ago.
