Monday 13th September: CHE Executive Committee meeting, Highgate. Any member wishing to have an issue raised at the Executive should contact an Executive Member or e-mail secretary@c-h-e.org.uk for more information.
Saturday 27th November: CHE Quarterly meeting and reunion, the Consortium Office, J111 Tower Bridge Business Complex, 100 Clements Road, London SE16 4DG. Open to all members and prospective members of CHE. This meeting will commemorate the achievements of CHE groups and other gay groups in London over the years. There's a special invitation to all who contributed to the book Out of the Shadows or are mentioned in it. Refreshments provided. It would assist our planning if you could let us know you're intending to come.

Recent events
Sunday 4th July: CHE Annual General Meeting, The Friends Meeting House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ. Special guests included Angela Mason (recently appointed a Commissioner of the Equality and Human Rights Commission) and Michael Black and John Morgan, the gay couple who hit the headlines in March when they were refused a double room at a Berkshire B&B. The meeting also included a book launch: Out of the Shadows, a history of the pioneering London gay groups, 1967-2000.
Saturday 3rd July: London Pride Parade and festival. CHE funded the refreshments at the afternoon Relaxation and Entertainment Area at St Anne’s Dean Street (which also featured entertainment by the London Gay Symphonic Winds).
Sunday 14th February: CHE
Quarterly Meeting at the Friends Meeting House, Euston Road. The
meeting included a commemoration of the late Robert Cook (see
CHE in the news), a very long-term
supporter of CHE, and discussion of campaigning priorities and other future
activities.
Saturday 30th January: CHE was represented at the Consortium Conference in London. See our News Page for more about this.
Saturday
17th October, 2009. Special CHE Meeting at
the Consortium offices in Bermondsey, where we have our office space. We had
a private DVD showing of the film Darling, which won the
2009 Derek Oyston Film Award, and discussed plans for the future. The
meeting asked the Executive to:
- investigate a new scheme for other organisations to become members of CHE
- consider arranging a special mini-conference to discuss issues of false accusations of sexual abuse.
It's now planned to have similar meetings about once a quarter.
Sunday 9th August. SLAGO annual Garden Party, Purley. Griff Vaughan Williams of CHE presented the SLAGO cup and shield to the winning groups.
Friday 10th July,
6:30 pm.
Launch of the Derek Oyston CHE Award, in
conjunction with GALHA. The first year's award was presented to Sue Sanders of Schools Out during
the GALHA (Gay and Lesbian
Humanist Association)
30th anniversary
event (also commemorating 40 years of CHE), in the Great Hall of the
Bishopsgate Institute. More about the award...
Sunday 5th July: CHE conference and AGM, The Friends Meeting House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ. The annual conference heard about CHE's successes during the past year, and planned its activities for the future.
Saturday 4th July: London Pride Parade. The parade was followed by a relaxation event at St Anne's Soho, from 2 to 5 pm, with tea/coffee provided by CHE and entertainment by the London Gay Symphony Orchestra.
